SafeTALK “Suicide Alertness for Everyone” workshop:

At this workshop, learn how to provide basic and practical help to persons with thoughts of suicide. It prepares you to be a suicide alert helper and provides you with the awareness that opportunities to help someone at risk are often missed, dismissed and avoided. It also teaches you the awareness of TALK steps (Tell, Ask, Listen and Keep-safe) and the ability to activate a suicide alert.

This course is designed to give coaches, volunteers, development officers etc. ideas and inspiration to adapt their physical activity & sports sessions to include people with disabilities. All bookings are taken online at http://caracentre.ie/disability-inclusion-training-online-booking/

Please contact the TSP office on 067-44888 for information on the next Disability Inclusion Training Workshop.

The course costs €45.

This is a programme which links physical activity with positive mental well-being. The aims are to educate sport and physical activity organisations and provide training in the area of mental well being through ‘SafeTALK “Suicide Alertness for Everyone”, ASIST ‘Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, Peer Support and Self Advocacy Training and WRAP (Wellness, Recovery, Action, Planning). It also aims to increase awareness of the resources available and encourage the people of Tipperary to be proactive in protecting and maintaining their well being.
